![]() ![]() ![]() That way, you will run from the ghost rather than towards him on your way to the exit, making the "passing maneuver" described above unnecessary.Īs the biggest Spelunker fan, I thought I'd get a kick out of this game called Spelunky. ![]() Picked it up and played it once before putting it down. Didn't like the run button and the physics of throwing stuff, etc. Well about two weeks ago, I was at a friend's and his brother was in town, and mentioned Spelunky. We got to playing it and he would talk about the game as we played. It was the first time I played it with 3 people too, which automatically is fun.Īnyway, I started to seethe appeal as I learned the elements of the game. At first it felt like a cluster fuck of things and death around every corner. ![]() Death is still around every corner, but when you kno what to expect, it becomes easier, and more fun.įast forward to yesterday. I finally beat that mother effer Olmec! Yeah, I used jet pack and bombs. Wanna fight about it? Haha, so many times while playing I've screamed "fuck this game!"Īlmost made it to hell, but I had no items or anything to fight Anubis. Really, it was a damned crushing block that came out of nowhere and murdered me in a second anyway, after all that work.īut anyway, this game is good fun! I'm probably done with it for awhile, having beat Olmec. Might bust it out for multiplayer, but not attempting hell for awhile. One thing I can say I don't like, is the multiplayer camera. Why not split screen? I understand the vita version doesn't use the 'flag system'. Spelunky 2 character unlocks 1080p#ġ080p is a high enough resolution for split screen to work just fine, I say.Īnother thing I don't like is that you can't unlock shortcuts or secret characters while in multiplayer. I suppose I understand it's mainly a solo game, but i would still prefer progression or unlocks to be available while playing with friends, since playing video games with friends is the best way to play games. I hear ya on the talk about how this game stays fresh without unlocks, but I do like the feeling of unlocking new things. Getting characters was fun, but I only have 4 left. Would have been cool to have a kind of gashopon machine in the intro tunnel area that you could put rare coins into and get something special. I prefer this game over Rogue Legacy, so it's not that I want that kind of progression. I think Ape Escape 2 or 3 had a really nifty gashopon style bonus unlock scheme. I think I had a lot of fun, so I'm just craving more, heh. It’s also convenient given the fact that we can’t exactly have people over due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.Īs a whole, the sort of chaos and mayhem you can cause in Spelunky is one aspect of the game that makes it a real blast to play, and we’re really looking forward to playing a few rounds of Spelunky 2 with our friends (online) once the game is released on September 15.I haven't yet been able to really get into Spelunky. It’s been confirmed that Spelunky 2 will not only have local co-op, it’ll also support online multiplayer as well which is awesome. You can also sacrifice your friends and chuck them over the edge of platforms and into traps. What’s nice is that there will be plenty of familiar aspects of the game returning in the sequel, including the ability to upset the Shopkeep to the point where he chases you down with a shotgun. It looks like new puzzles have been added to the game that force you to think creatively when it comes to making your way from the top of the level to the exit towards the bottom. In total, there will be four new playable characters in Spelunky 2 which include Ana Spelunky, Margaret Tunnel, Roffy D. Spelunky 2 will offer a wealth of new features for players to enjoy including new levels, new weapons, new characters, the introduction of mounts, and more. It’ll serve as a sequel to the first Spelunky game which released all the way back in 2008. On September 15, Spelunky 2 will hit PlayStation 4 and PC. Now, we finally have a confirmed release date for Spelunky 2. We’ve received a few updates in the years following its announcement including plans to release the game in 2019 before later delaying the game’s release to 2020. Spelunky 2 has been in development for quite a while, having first been announced by Mossmouth back in 2017. What made things even better is the way the trailer ended… with an official release date! Spelunky 2 gets a confirmed release date Spelunky 2 will release on PS4 and PC on September 15! It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything in regards to the state of the game’s development, so seeing a trailer for it was extremely exciting. During Sony’s State of Play, we got a brand new trailer for Spelunky 2. ![]()
